yers, citizen of this city, and Frans Janss, from Monnikendam,aged about 26 ysars, who sealed this last voyage as cond on the said Hendrick Christiaensen’s ship. At the request of the shipohners of the same Hendrick Christiaenss, they declared, testificd and bore witness in true Christian words, honour, saith and conscience instead of a solemn cath, that it is true that after the thineves had captued Thijs Mossel’s ship in Virginia and taken possession of the same, they sent askore from the said ship axes, vieads and kettles, which Mossel’s crew had brought and stored. First [they stored these] in the ship of the same Hendrick Christiaensen, later they took the said goods and their [ohn] chests and baggage out of the said ship [of Hendrick Christiaensen] and transferred, brought and left them in Cornelis Jansen [ must be Jacobsz.] Meij's ship in the same condition as in Hendrick Christiaensen’s ship. The deponents were there present. Ench ogf the depontents is willing to swaer to what is here written, if necessary had requested. Anf he at- testad, declared and affirmed with true words instead of an cath that it is true that in the month of August of last year 1613 he, the deponent, met captain Adriaen Block on the Exchange. He spoke to him, gave him a hereby welcome back from his voyage and asked him how he had grand. He said, that it did not amount to much and was poor word.
