In exercise of the pouers conferred by section 58 of ' The Pilgrim Stips Ordinance 1897: the Officer Administerins the Covernment in Council is pleased to make the sollowing Rules:- 1. The Port Officer shall, ou receivins the notice required by section 8, himself proceed, or give written authority to some com- petent person on his behalt, to inspect the ship, her provisions, me- dical stores, equipments, ventilation, tittings, etc, and shall satisfy himself by such inspection that they meet all prescribed require- ments. 2. The certificates Aand Brequired under sections 11 and 12 shall be given in torms Vos. Land Il appendea to these kules, and that required under section 24 in Form N0. 111. No certificate under section 12 shall be granted between May roth and September roth in any year in respect of a ship of a tonnage ot less than 5oo rexistered tons, or wtich is not capabte of steamins at least eight knots an hour in ordinary monsoon weather; noc stiall such a certificate be siven untess all the arrangements required by these Rules have been made to the entire satissaction of the Port Officer. 4. The Port Officer shall see that in all cases the Medical Offi- cer of the ship is present at the official inspection and that such Medical Officer has had an opportunity of Satisfyins himsell as to the completeness of the arrangements made tor the accommodation and care of the pilgrims under these Rules; and shall require such Medical Officer to furnisti a certificate to that effect in torm Kand to sigh the second of the certificates prescribed by Kale 50.
