In 1713, several ships were staffed with soldiers and sailors. Adriaien Kempe commanded the St. Joris with 180 men, while Cornelis Loucke led a ship of 110 men. Each of seven ships carried 30 musketeers, costing 292 pounds and 10 shillings monthly per ship, totaling 2,047 pounds and 10 shillings.

Vice Admiral Carinius Hollare commanded the Sampson. Other captains included Cornelis van Regemerter on the Gouden Leeuw, Jan de Cock on the Denhoorn, and Frans Jacobsz Schortant.
