Carstiaensen’s ship, although the deponents had first given notice to Arnout van Libergen by Aert Vogels that all the goods or Pegins traded and ordained by the skippers on the reverI during their angreement had been said and kept separately. Private records and notes have been made and kept on this by your shipper and supercargo. From the first day on, the deponents also had decide that they would set the said goods separately until further answer and advise from you. Two or three daye after the aforesaid Vogels hadatus this to the said Libergen, the deponents therefore kindly 20 announced and gave notice of this to the honorable burgomaster Gerrit Jacob Witsen, presenting and requesting to meet the other party to show the document on both sides, to consider the metter and to come to a fruendly understanding with each other, since they never wished orfried to do otherwise than what is just and right. Therefore they kindly request you and the other shipohners to be willing imme- diately to release from arrest and set tree their said goods, so that they can take possession and have the profit of them, since these goods are perishable and might be damaged and ruined by Worms and otherwise. Besides this, they give notice to you that they are satisfied that you should assign and appoint someone to water over the goods traded during thisagement. this without any prejudice or decrease to the taightfuI claims of both. Hereby they expressly protest again any mistake, refuse or departure. The aforesais deponents also calm against the shipohners Jointly and severally (notice of which is hereby expressly and definively given by the notary) for all cost, damage and interest which they have already had, made, and suffered on account of this or which they may have to suffer until this business is settled. they shall calm, presume and reoover all these charges, and especially those which might advise on account of damage or harm to the said goods, at all times and by all means, against your persons and goods, without any exception, as demed proper and the deponent's good judgement demands. After they had been given notice of this, the aforesaid Hans Claesen and Arnout van Lijberghen answered that they had board it and should take care of it.
