1613, April 29. Deed, whereby Aert Vogels translers to Hans and Abraham Pelt
his part in the cargo and the ship of captain Adriaen Block.
Appealed before me Frederick van Banchem, notary public, admitted to the
Court of Holland, residing in Amsterdam, and the hereafter mentioned witnesses,
Mr. Aert Vogels, merchant in the aforesaid city, who ceded, transferred and
commissioned in tree possession, by due form of purchase-deed to Messrs. the
brothers Hans and Abraham Pelt, also merchants, who were present and who
accepted the petitioner’s proper share, due him as well in the cargo and merchant-
dise as in the hull of Adriaen Block's ship, sailing from the aforesaid city of Am¬
sterdam to Terneuff, with any respective profits, benefits and damages which may
accrue from the aforesaid ship and merchandises, tegether with the insurenze
effected and signed according to the policy. And the deponent arkno wledged
himself fully satisfied, sttled and paid by the said Hans and Abraham Pelt, and he
herewith remits and gives them a recept for it. He therefore cedes to the said Hans
and Abraham Pelt and their respective hoirs full and real possession of the afore¬
said merchantise, the ship and insurance with all its profits, benefits and rights, as
if they had taken care of it on their own behalf, to do with it whar they may
choose. For the deponent arknoivledged that he had no more share, right or
supervision in it, fully ceding in favor of the same [brothers Hans and Abraham
Pelt. therefore the said acceptors herewith take upon themselves the risk of the
said merchantise, and share in the ship from the bour the said ship sealed on the
said voyage. Truly deposed..
The deponents asked me, the said notary, to draw up and give them a public deed
of convenance in due form.
Done in Amsterdam, in the presence of Pieter Carels and Jan Warnarts,arked to
be witnesses.
The 29th day of April, 1613.
