Carl Magnus Ehrenfelt nog zonder d ertussen was van Zweedse adel uit Stockholm geboren 1755. Na omzwervingen in Nederland terechtgekomen. Later in het Franse leger gedient als kaptein majoor van de 5e compagnie artilerie etranger. Na 1813 in Brussel gewoond en in 1819 in Amsterdam gaan wonen. In 1824 zijn gezin in de steek gelaten en vermoedelijk weer naar Ceylon gegaan.
