Question/answer » How do I get records and search results into my family tree program or spreadsheet?

Retyping takes time and causes errors. With Plus you download data from Open Archives and import it directly.

One record

On the record page, click Download data. You choose:

  • GEDCOM: the standard format for family tree programs. The persons, their roles, dates, places and the source citation come along.
  • PDF: a neat print of the record with source citation, for your own archive or to share.

All your favourites in one go

Go to Favorite documents and click PDF or GEDCOM. You then get all your saved records in one file.

A whole list of search results

Below the search results, click Download result list. You get a CSV or XLS file for your spreadsheet, with a maximum of 10,000 lines. Useful when you want to work through or sort a whole family name in a region.

Downloading is part of the Plus subscription.
