Question/answer » How do comments on a record work?

You can post a comment on every record. For example an addition, a correction or a reference to another source. Other researchers see your comment on the record page.

How to post a comment

  1. Log in. Without an account you cannot post a comment.
  2. On the record page, click Add comment.
  3. Write your text and send it.

Why don't I see my comment yet?

A moderator looks at new comments first. We do this against spam. And we look after the privacy of living persons. After approval, your comment appears on the record.

Good to know

  • Your name appears with your comment. That way other researchers know who the information comes from.
  • You can always delete your own comment with the recycle bin icon.
  • You find all your comments via My Open Archives › Comments.
  • Are you searching for a name? Then Open Archives also searches the comments of users.
