Question/answer » I see an error in a record. What can I do?

Errors happen. A name has been typed wrongly, a date is not right, or a person is missing. You can report this.

How to report an error

  1. Open the record and click the button Report an error.
  2. Describe what is wrong.
  3. Choose whether the error is also in the data of the archive, or only on Open Archives.

Who fixes the error?

Open Archives does not change the data of a record itself. The data belongs to the archive. If the error is at the archive, your report goes to the archive. The archive may contact you. That is why we then share your e-mail address with the archive. If the archive corrects the record, the correction arrives on Open Archives with the next update.

If the error is only on Open Archives, for example in the processing, we fix it ourselves.

An addition rather than an error?

Do you know something extra about the persons in the record? Then post a comment on the record. Other researchers will benefit from it.
