Question/answer » Can I view and download the scan of a record?

Many records come with a scan of the original document. You see the scan at the bottom of the record page. Click on it to enlarge it.

Downloading a scan

Next to the scan, click download the image. You can then choose:

  • File name: the original name, or a name that includes the date, source type, archive and names. That way you easily find the file again later.
  • Source citation: none, pasted at the top of the image, or as a separate text file.

No scan to be seen?

Not every archive supplies scans. Then click the button View on source website. You then go to the website of the archive. The scan is often available there.

Do you only want to see records with a scan? Then put a $ after your search query, for example Wiggers $.
