Question/answer » What can I do with extended search?

With extended search you fill in a form. This is useful when you know exactly what you are looking for, or when the search box gives too many results.

What can you fill in?

• The name of a first and a second person. For each name you choose contains, exact or sounds like.
• A name part you want to exclude.
• A profession.
• A place of birth.
• The role in the record, for example groom, mother or deceased.
• An archive repository. You can also exclude an archive.
• A source type, for example only notarial deeds.
• A year or a period.

All fields are optional. Only fill in what you know for sure. The less you fill in, the more results you get.
