Question/answer » How do I refine the search results?

Next to the list of search results are filters. They make the list shorter. Behind each filter you see how many results it gives.

Which filters are there?

  • Country of the source, for example the Netherlands or Belgium.
  • Source type, for example civil birth records or baptism registers.
  • Event, for example birth, marriage or death.
  • Place of the event.
  • Role of the person in the record, for example bride, father or witness.
  • Year: slide the bar to the period you want.

You can combine several filters. You remove a filter by clicking it again or via the link remove filter.

Map

Below the results is a map. It shows where the events found took place. That way you quickly see in which region a family occurs.

With a Plus subscription you can also filter on records that were added recently.
