Question/answer » Which files can I put in my family archive?

In your family archive you can keep photos, scans and documents. These file types are allowed:

• JPG, PNG and GIF: photos and scans.
• PDF: documents, such as a scanned marriage booklet, a letter or a memorial card.

A file may be up to 20 MB in size.

How do I add a file?

1. In your archive go to Pictures and click Add image.
2. Choose the file on your computer. On a phone or tablet you can also take a photo right away.
3. Give the file a title and a description.

Documents in PDF

Family Archivist automatically makes a preview image of a PDF. Participants can read and browse the document in the archive. Several pages in one file is no problem.

Tips

• Scan photos at 300 dpi or more. Then details stay visible when zooming in.
• Keep the original on your own computer too. The archive is a place to share, not your only copy.
