Question/answer » Does publishing take a lot of time or technical knowledge?

No. You do not have to build a website and you do not have to program anything. Genealogy Online creates your publication automatically. You only supply your data.

Online in four steps

  1. Create an account, or log in.
  2. Give your publication a title and a short description.
  3. Upload the GEDCOM file from your family tree program.
  4. Check the result and give your approval.

You can create a GEDCOM file with any family tree program, such as Aldfaer, GensDataPro, PRO-GEN, Family Tree Maker or MyHeritage. Usually via File and then Export. Within a few minutes after uploading, your family tree is online. Start on the page New publication.

Updating is just as simple

You just keep working in your own family tree program. That remains the source. Have you found something new? Then upload your GEDCOM file again. Or link Dropbox, then it happens by itself. You only have to upload images once.

What does it cost?

Getting started is free. With the Trial subscription you publish one family tree, without obligations.
