The tools
- Genealogical standards and guidelines: rules for good research, such as citing sources. A translation of the guidelines of the National Genealogical Society.
- Genealogical research process: an overview of the steps in good research. From question to proof.
- Calendar converter: converts dates between the Gregorian, Julian, French Republican and Jewish calendars. Handy for old records, for example from the French period.
- Phonetic codes: calculate the Soundex or Metaphone code of a name. This helps you find names that are spelled differently but sound the same.
- Genealogical dictionary: the meaning of old words and terms you come across in records.
