Question/answer » Which e-mails do I receive from Genealogy Online and how do I set this?

Genealogy Online sends you different kinds of e-mail. You decide yourself which ones you want to receive.

Kinds of e-mail

  • Messages about your publication: for example, that your publication is ready after an upload. You always receive these.
  • New matches: a message when persons from your family tree have been found in another publication.
  • Genealogy Online Tips: explanations of what the website can do.
  • Newsletter: news about Genealogy Online and about family history research. You only receive this if you sign up.

How to set it

  1. Log in and go to your profile.
  2. At the bottom you will find the e-mail preferences. Tick what you want to receive.
  3. Your choice is saved right away.

In your profile you also choose in which language you want to receive e-mail: Dutch, English, German or French.

Missed an e-mail?

You can read all e-mails that Genealogy Online has sent you on the page My received e-mails. There you can also have a message sent again. Handy if an e-mail has ended up in your spam folder.
