Question/answer » How do I make my publication easier to find?

You publish to be found. By family, by people with the same surname and by other researchers. With these tips, your publication is found more easily.

1. Make your publication public

Only a public publication can be found via Google and other search engines. Genealogy Online also automatically registers your publication with Stamboomzoeker.nl and the Stamboom Gids.

2. Write a good title and description

Mention the most important surnames and places. Search engines use that text. You can fill in the description in four languages.

3. Add starting points

Starting points give visitors a way into your family tree. They also appear on the Starting points page of Genealogy Online.

4. Join a collection

Does your family tree belong to a society or a subject? Add it to a collection.

5. Add images and stories

Images with a good description can be found in the image bank. Stories are shown on the Stories page.

6. Promote your publication

In Publication management you will find the button Promote your publication. There you will find ready-made links and buttons for your own website, e-mail and social media.

Please note

An access gate makes your publication harder to find. Protected data is not found by search engines and does not take part in matches.
