All Temperance Organirations of women in every nation are invited 1o
send as delegates their general officers -or proxies who shall represent them
and besides these, one delegate tor each one thousand members duly accred-
ited on the books of their respective Treasurers. Weltknoun leaders, experts
and specialists in the temperance reform, and particularly those whose names
are on the list of the Advisory Council of this Committee, and are specially
charged with workins up this Womans Temperance Congress, are hereby
invited to attend as exofficio members with sull poivers.
To this Advisory Council we appeal for advice and cooperation in all
the ways that the wide observation and lons experience ol its members in
reform and philanthropie work will be sure to suggest.
First of all. we ask them to secure the publication of this present
announcement and address in all papers and magarines that they can instu-
ence, sor the purpose of giving a world- wide recognition of the significant and
helpful fact that by the desire and decision of men, women are to share
equally with themselves in all the honors as well as the labors and the cares
of the great Exposition, and that the temperance cause will be given all
possible opportunity for a larger hearins than it has ever yet enjoyed. With
no intention to intertere with the suggestions thus earnestly sought by our
Committee, we bes to lay belore our Advisory Council the tollowins ques-
tions, askins the opinion of each one of its members, with any and all other
elucidations of the great subject that may occur to their minds:

bates, speeches, singing, or other features of the Worlds Women's Temperance Congress:

vou assign the same for preparation and presentation:

4. What is your opinion concerning the participation of Children in ihis Womans
Temperance Congress: Would vou give representation to iheir societies, and it so, upon
wtat basis:.
And although the Congress, as such, will not have anything to do with
any material exhibit of any kind, we take the liberty to add the sollowing
questions, as a matter of convenience, and to save the trouble and expense of
a separate communication:
a. In view of the fact that the Worlds Womans Christian Temperance Union has
determined to have an exhihit of Temperance Literature, Banners, Mottoes, Medals, Photographs,
Documents, etc; 1o erect a Fountain, establish a Printing Office, conduct a Restaurant, Cate,
Temperance Hospital, etc, at Chicago in 1893. what will the women of vour country, sociely
or locality, do 1o help hil out this great object lesson of the Temperance Reform
What are the best temperance drinks of which you are cogniaant:
We invite correspondence and suggestions, not trom our Advisory
Council alone, but trom any and all who read this address; tor we believe
that this great gathering should bet made up of every creatures best-
We are confident that in our arduous undertakins - to which, without
your help, we should be sure to prove ourselves inadequate - we may rely
upon your warm sympathy and intelligent aid. We will theretore go torward
with all diligence and courage, invoking above all else the indwellins presence
of Him in whose image man was made, and to whose image and likeness man
is to be restored. In this prayer and this endeavor we are your comrade-
workers, in the love of God and of Humanity and our most sacred Cause.
