InhoudCapiteyn Cristiaen Eldertsz, gevoerd hebbend met het schip Gorcum, oud 41 jaar, verklaart op verzoek van Pieter Duvelaer, coopman te St. Malo in Vrankrijck, inlader van het schip de Roo Sterre, waarop schipper is Adriaen de Clercq van Schiedam, dat hij in februari j.l. met een vloot uit de Bosch is vertrokken met bestemming Zeelant, de Maeze en Texel. In het Canael heeft genoemde schipper de Clercq met zijn schip zich daarbij gevoegd. In de nacht van 12 op 13 februari heeft De Clercq noodseinen uitgezonden. Capiteyn Eldertss heeft daarop De Clercq toegeroepen dat hij de fock op de mast moest halen en zijn sloep moest uitzetten. Toen capiteyn Eldertss het schip de Roo Sterre naderde zag hij dat het water al tot de luiken stond en heeft daarop het scheepsvolk van boord gehaald en naar de Gorcum overgebracht. De Roo Sterre is daarop gezonken met de hele lading aan boord.
