An additiona ship, "Graft" departed Amsterdam 7 May of 1653, and arrived at Rensselaerswijk Colonie a few months later. No passenger list available, but correspondence from WIC to Director Stuyvesant does point out that among the passengers, "Johan de Hulter...Partner in the Colony of Rensselaerswyck, who takes with him a goodly number of free people, among them some artisans, especially a very good brickmaker, and many others to settle either in the said Colony or elsewhere and assist in the cultivation of the soil there." As a carpenter, Wijnant may have been among the "artisans".

Wijnant Gerritsz and Trijntje Melgers emigrated to America soon after this. Wijnant appeared in Court at Fort Orange in New Netherland in May of 1654. The only recorded ships leaving the Netherlands between March of 1653 and May of 1654 dates are the "Coninck Salomon" and "Gelderse Blom" (King Solomon and Flower of Gelderland) which departed Texel in late August 1653, and arrived at New Amsterdam in early November of that same year.
