In 1950, a second General Population Census was carried out by the 1950 Population Census Bureau under the leadership of J. Gemmink. This was financed by the Surinamese Welfare Fund, founded in 1947. The Name Index of the 1921 Census, which was previously indexed on this site, was in preparation for this second census. During this count, no register lists with residents per address were completed, but a card was completed for each person with all the necessary information about that person. 41 main questions had to be answered on the card regarding the situation on October 31, 1950.
