Heeft lang in Amsterdam gewoond op de Nassaukade 305. Destijds werkte hij bij PON Amsterdam. Hij heeft na zijn pensionering lange tijd jonge politiemensen aan onderdak geholpen in zijn achterhuis. Na het overlijden van zijn vrouw vereenzamen hij wat. Heb 9 jaar een kamer bij hem gehuurd.
