On Monday, 25 March F.D. Gunning wrote
Hans Jurjen Gunnink is niet met het schip Schellag, maar met de "VIS" uitgevaren (vanuit welke haven?). Dat schip is op 6 mei 1740 gestrand bij Kaap de Goede Hoop. Hans heeft het overleefd en kon pas in september z'n reis, nu op de Schellag, vervolgen. Hoe en waar hij nadien heeft gefunctioneerd is mij niet bekend, wèl dat hij op 3 september 1745 "in Azië" is overleden.
