This is my forfather JOHANNES KNAUS came to Africa in 1771. We are still in Namibia today. The place of origen must be Duddelsheim not Dittelson in Germany if I am correct because his origen was GERMAN. The surname was changed to Knous end later Knouwds by the Dutch influence in Southern Africa.
