Pieter Scherpenhuijsen geboren gedoopt NH Haarlem 17-09-1769. Zoon van Maarten Scherpenhuijsen en Magdalena Verkruijssen. Zijn broer Martinus (Maarten) neemt ook dienst als jongmatroos bij de VOC.
