Engbert Bruins, herbergier te Garijp, oud 33 jaar, verklaart dat op 4 dezer te zijnen huize waren Klaas Jacobs, Roel Jans, Auke Oedses en Reiner Rienks, allen van Suameer, benevens Hendrik Wadman, van Bergum en een stoelwinder uit de Kuikhorne; even later kwamen Douwe Wadman, destijds te Buitenpost, maar nu te Garijp wonende, en Sybren Gjolts, van Suameer, zijnde deze laatsten dronken en nat, naar ze zeiden hadden ze in een sloot gelegen. Na een opmerking van Minke Geukes, getuiges moeder, begonnen Douwe en Hendrik Wadman ruzie te maken, en met getuige te vechten, waarop getuige de hulp inriep van zijn knecht Klaas Popkes, die recht tegenover hem woont, en zijn buurman Broer Pytters. Ook Jeltje Sybes en anderen schoten te hulp. Veel van de inboedel is vernield, beschadigd of gestolen. Ook is de moeder van getuige mishandeld en het gelag deels onbetaald - verklaring over hetzelfde door Minke Geukes, weduwe van Bruin Engberts, oud 60 jaar, wonende in de herberg te Garijp - idem door Klaas Jacobs, Suameer, oud 32 jaar (tekent met x) - idem door IJsbrant Floris, wonende voor knecht bij Broer Pytters te Garijp, oud 26 jaar - idem door Jeltje Sybes, ongehuwd, oud ca. 40 jaar, wonende te Garijp - idem door Klaas Popkes, schoenmakersknecht te Garijp, ook "arbeidende" bij Engbert Bruins, oud 25 jaar (tekent met x) - idem door Johannes Sybrens, vrijgezel te Garijp, oud 30 of 31 jaar; hij is 4 dezer, toen er boelgoed was ten huize van Gerryt Rintjes te Garijp, door Hendrik Wadman omver gesmeten en geslagen - idem door Jan Jans te Garijp, oud 33 jaar; heeft gezien dat Douwe en Hendrik Wadman Johannes Sybrens hebben mishandeld (w.g. Yan Yans) - Aarn Taekes te Garijp, oud 23 jaar, heeft dat ook gezien - verklaring van Broer Pytters, mr. schoenmaker te Garijp, oud 31 jaar - idem van Acke Jans, oud 37 jaar, vrouw van Hedser Goitsens, mr. kuiper te Garijp, buurvrouw van Engbert Bruins - idem van Dina Alles, oud 73 jaar, weduwe van Jacob Engberts, wonende te Garijp, eveneens buurvrouw van Engbert Bruins
